Space is inescapably ever-present when sailing. The balance changes, with space taking centre stage.
Space itself comes alive, between us all and through us all.
Light-filled space, extending as far as I can see, coming into focus as something rather than nothing.
My body starts to feel like empty space.
Then the sense of everything arising in space will tip slowly to the sense of everything arising in mind.
Mind and space, containing everything that arises, shaping my experience out of itself.
When something arises in space, is this space reshaping itself, manifesting as the other elements and being transformed?
And is the space still there?
These intuitions into life and learning — and many more — are detailed in Dyana’s Anchors in an Open Sea trilogy, beginning with book 1: The Yoga of Sailing.
